After completing a Sports Rehabilitation degree I set up my private practice in the early 2000s. Since I have qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist, worked in the NHS as a physiotherapist and am a fully practising member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapist. Working in several different environment and specialities I felt there was a lack of help provided to people once they have left the care and support network of the NHS. It was after working closely with a patient who was one of those unfortunate to be caught in the transitional phase from NHS back to everyday living when we came up with an idea which is the product you are viewing today. A platform where people can view safe, effective and hopefully beneficial exercises to encourage, empower and provide rehabilitation at your home. It is with the support of GAIN (https://gaincharity.org.uk) a charity who are there to provide support and advice to people who are diagnosed with Guillian-Barre syndrome or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy I have been able to deliver these short rehabilitation videos, to which I thank them.
I hope that you find the exercises easy to follow, challenging and aid you in your recovery within your own home.
Building the future
Guidance, Support, Empowerment and Independence are all terms which people use when I discuss rehabilitation with them. This is the key and the heart of what we have tried to create and deliver through this platform. I cannot see and help everyone face to face and am fully aware there are many people who can not access a physiotherapist but who are desperate to be guided in their recovery. With these exercises, we can start that road together and look forwards rather than just treading water.
